Climate change is causing more frequent and severe weather events such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves which are affecting crop yields and food production. This is leading to food shortages and price increases which are impacting food security around the world.

Introduction

What we are woefully undergoing right now and will severely so in the coming years is an onslaught of man’s collective deeds. Climate change is a doleful global climate crisis– a severe fate of a haughtiness due to the arduous carbon dioxide and other greenhouse cases on earth as a whole. This deplorably transforms on a harmful impact of climate change on food security, a global food security.

The carbon dioxide swallows the waves of radiation which captures and then imprisons the heat in the celestial atmosphere. This development results to the damaging aftermath of warming of the surface, the lower atmosphere and the greenhouse effect. Inherently climate change can further agitate bad health or ailment for human being e.g., eye irritant, lungs irritants, sunburn, running nose, cough etc.

The Mind-Boggling Impact of Climate Change on Food Security

The vast coastal and land flora, enormous forest, massive plants, the supersize natural lands greatly help to absorb and store the excess carbon dioxide in the air, in the atmosphere. Food insecurity sets in as farms, farmers and agriculture are extremely affected by the climate change. It occurs when a family household consistent gateway to an adequate clean water and an adequate food is characterized by enforceable limitations. or when adequate food is limited and could not sustain the demand and supply. This would result to pricey food, limited supply, massive famine, dismal hunger and wrathful chaos everywhere. Henceforth the severe impact of climate change on food security is a challenging fate we must all together combat.

The tropical storms and typhoons are having rain more and more, lingers longer than the habitual and getting out of control, just like the ongoing forest wildfires, continual roaring of lands and ongoing wars between nations. On top of the North Pole and Antarctic are quickly melting down which causes high rise in sea levels on the globe. With the vast ocean and seabed heating up– threatening sea creatures and mankind’s food security and water security.

17 Pre-eminent Ways to Prepare for the Mind-Boggling Impact of Climate Change on Food Security

  1. Amass seeds and seedlings so as for future use in an airtight container of a zip lock or jar on a huge storage room or you can also freeze seeds. Have on hand on any of seeds of several world edible plants and seeds of fruits cultivated for healthy foods for the next generations. Some seeds last a year while other last 5 years. Corn seeds can even last for 10 years if properly kept on airtight jars or airtight containers and away from direct sunlight. Viable seeds should ideally germinate in just a matter of 1 week to 10 days.

Smoked haddock smoked red herring, smoked salmon, smoked sea bass, smoked sturgeon, smoked bluefish, smoked rockfish, smoked eel, smoked mackerel, smoked cod, smoked trout, smoked tuna, are usually baked or sometimes boiled in butter, yet equally taste better when smoked with smashing fresh herbs and spices. Best to smoked fish rich in omega 3 fatty acids as its much healthier like salmon, mackerel, cod, trout, tuna. The fresh herbs and spices not only further add to its palatable flavorful taste, but it likewise helps preserve the meat of the fish to an extending to a considerable time. Can be stored in the freezer inside a zip-lock bag with no air bag with a large amount of salt when smoked for 12hours with low temperature can hold up to 3 months; or in a smokehouse for months in a room temperature and should never be exposed in direct sunlight.
  4. Smoked meat. Smoked meat of chicken, goat, lamb, sheep, and beef can be stored longer. Smoking meats for 12 hours or more at low temperature to ensure to lessen the spoilage. Wrap in foil or plastic zip lock to ensure no air pockets then freeze or store in storeroom and last 3 months or more.
  5. Dried Fish are traditionally preserved by removing its moisture the natural way. Sprinkled with salt and pepper and then you dry it under the direct heat of the sun for few days. Dried Filipino danggit, dried mackerel, dried salmon, dried shrimp, dried sardines, dried tuna, dried Japanese niboshi, Japanese kusaya, dried Norweigian boknafisk, dried Spanish mojama de isla cristina, dried Spanish, mojama de barbate, dried plankton, dried tubifex, can last between 7 months to a year if properly sealed in zip lock then placed in cardboard boxes or glass jars in a well-ventilated room. The kind of fish good for drying are the ones with low fat content as they preserve longer with less fat like the cod, pollock, haddock, mackerel, sardines and herring.
  6. Dried meat. e.g., in the form of dried beef tapa, dried lamb tapa, can be prolonged beyond the usual time. there is also a dried tuna skin, dried meat of pork and dried beef sold per kilo which can be stored longer and cooked as crispy “chicharon”. You need to secure dried meat in airtight packaging Ziplock then place in a Tupperware so it don’t absorb moisture from air. 5months to 1 year but will last to 5 years if properly kept. Beef is the best meat to dry age because of its content intramuscular fat which are the white flecks inside the meat that melts while cooking giving juiciness and flavorful.
  7. Dried or dehydrated Fruits. Apricot, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cherries, kiwi, sweet mango, sweet mangosteen, carica papaya, sweet pineapple, watermelon, oranges, raisins, grapes, cranberries, figs, dates, prunes, plum, currants, goji berries, . Dried fruit shelf life greatly depends on the drying method used and how it was stored. Dried and kept in the pantry or fridge last 8months to a year yet can last 13 years or more if kept properly with airtight sealer in a cool place. Now why is that? Because the fruit itself contains a lot of its own natural sugar, natural acid or vit c and natural antioxidants that makes it last longer. (On the other hand, the unhealthy additives or chemicals on commercialized dried fruit inhibit the growth of the bacteria faster thus it usually doesn’t last after 6 months.
  8. Roasted nuts. A roasted cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts, marang nuts, jackfruit nuts are generally roasted so as to enhance its taste and crunchy texture. Unopened bag of roasted nuts in the fridge last 2 years and few months on the pantry. Adding fresh rosemary extract also adds shelf life to roasted nuts. But mommies, do not store nuts when you have an asthmatic child or with an allergy.
  9. Beans are classified as belonging to the family of legumes. Varied types of beans can last longer as well up to 3 months if well kept. Black beans, pinto beans mean painted in Spanish, cranberry beans, edamame young Japanese soybeans, soybeans, fava green beans, mung or monggo beans the most common in the world, chickpeas or garbanzo beans, cannellini beans or white Italian kidney beans. Can last for 6 months if it’s not yet spoilt yet they won’t taste as good if eaten longer. Eat in moderation for people with heart ailments, asthmatic and allergies.
  10. Homemade unleavened slice bread, unleavened pizza dough and unleavened Mexican tortillas or tacos or unleavened bread matzo in Hebrew. It is best to eat it within a few days of baking it. However, it can be frozen for 5 months to 8 months which can be reheated just enough for daily consumption of your family. In my younger days, my mother used to do this for the family without any additives and it last longer when frozen. Homemade or grocery bought unleavened bread and unleavened pizza do not contain any leavening agents that makes it much healthier and last longer when frozen. Tortillas can be eaten for tacos, shawarma wrap, pinwheel sandwiches or shells for salads, of French crepe with fruit filing.
  11. Fermented plant-based foods of veggies and fruits like the fermented mustasa, atsara, santol, kimchi, cucumber, carrots, mustard leaf– this method of fermented veggies has been in my clan since my great grandparent’s days that dates back the world war times. These form of preserving foods last longer too for 7months to a year when stored in a dark room and can be more than a year in the fridge. Fermented plant-based food veggies or fruits become much softer and more acidic as they age. Although its done in a natural process, it is harmful on environment pollution when done on a large industrial scale as it is high in salt and acid that can harm the environment if not properly disposed.
  12. Dried veggies. Dried mushrooms, dried carrots, dried celery, dried onions, dried broccoli and other home dried veggies last 3 months to a year in the pantry. Store all your dried veggies in zip lock or better yet in an airtight container on cool dark room. Heat, light and air shorten the lifespan of your dried vegetables.
  13. Dried cereals, wheat, corn, hard grains, rice, white rice, especially brown rice can last 6 months to 10 years because of the oil content that goes rancid. Brown rice will store longer if refrigerated. However white rice will store much longer for years up to 7 years if properly dried, properly sealed and stored in cooler temperature.
  14. Pasta capellini, macaroni, spaghetti, ribbons will store longer if kept dry and sealed for 8 years to 10 years at cooler temperature. Some kinds of pasta lasts longer than the other pasta like the whole grain pasta may last a year, vegetable pasta can last 2 years, while gluten free pasta last 2 years. On the other hand, the semolina pasta last 2 years to 10 years if unopened or if sealed properly. But if you store pasta in a damp environment it will mold and rot quickly. The secret is to store it in an airtight container like flour in an airtight large barrel or large cans.
  15. Hire pragmatic scientists which includes complex interventions, sometimes it contains a multitude of interacting components and often involving the skills and experience of more skillful professionals to deliver the intervention and resolutions concentrating on practical results and facts.
  16. A massive continuous planting or forest reforestation and agroforestry which should be planted and supervised by the experts to ensure what happens after planting (who will care for it from seeds to growing tree, how that growth will be closely monitored from tree planting to tree growing), community engagement are one of the most powerful solutions in the impact of climate change especially on food security, a balance ecosystem and live longer and good health of human beings. To conserve humanity and the global ecosystem, provide us clean air to breathe, prevents soil erosion, and gives shelter homes to reduce energy costs. Trees that are being removed and cut down from the forest and vast lands can cause severe carbon losses thru fire, soil erosion and decomposition. Yet large factories greenhouse emission must be adequately address too.
  17. Prayer. Constantly pray and praise the one true Living God (1 John 5:14 He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him). Regardless how powerful, intelligent, rich a nation can be– we can’t entirely camouflage the fact that we are a nonentity lilliputian, a mini goose-egg without the divine interventions of our Almighty God. How much longer can man be blindfolded and be a puppet by the enemy of God when in reality you can receive God’s grace and mercy the moment you call on God the Father and God the Son? Hes been waiting patiently. Lord Jesus, He is the only way– there’s no other way. Do not test The Lord God Almighty. Go to the house of God to hear the Sunday services of the church pastors. (Psalms 145: 18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.) Let’s put our trust in the Lord God the father and God the Son alone. Honor the Lord and read the Holy Bible everyday upon waking up and before going to bed as this is the best thing to go to for learning and knowing what to do. We have a merciful loving God.

What God wants from us?

(Deuteronomy 32: 16-17 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations they provoked him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.) God is a jealous God and does not want His people to bow down to man-made false Gods of wood, statues and figurines who can’t hear you. You have 2 choices, but you have to choose only One God—It’s either you bow down to demon false man-made gods and burn in hell, OR you turn to a true Living God the Alpha and Omega and accept His gift of salvation for eternity. If you have not yet received Jesus in your life as your savior and Lord, do so now and humbly come to Him. God is an amazing God. God is Love, and He loves you.

There will be 7 seals of dreadful tribulation with the 4th seal of famine and plague (Revelation 6:7-8), and the 6th seal of great earthquake, sun turned black, moon turned red, the stars fell from sky to earth, every mountain was removed from its place, hence the powerful, rich or poor people hide from Gods wrath (Revelation 6: 12-14). And so, God’s chosen people were saved from the coming severe 7th seal of tribulation; and a great celebration was done in heaven Gods kingdom (Revelation 7: 1-17). And after which is the afflictive 7th seal of peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake. (Revelation 8:1-5).

And then comes another 7 trumpets of severe heartbreaking tribulation (Revelation 8, 9, 10, 11). The 2nd trumpet–a 3rd of the sea turned into blood and sea creatures died. (Rev. 8:8). The 3rd angel sounded his trumpet–a 3rd of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from it (Rev 8: 10-11). The 4th angel sounded his trumpet–and a 3rd of the sun was struck; a 3rd of the day was without light and also a 3rd of the night (Rev. 8: 12). The 5th angel sounded his trumpet–a star had fallen to earth with the sun and sky darkened by it, from its smoke came down on earth locusts like that of scorpions to torture people for 5 months who will all long to die but won’t die yet (Rev. 9: 1-12). The 6th trumpet–a 3rd of mankind was killed by plagues of fire, smoke and Sulphur. The rest of mankind who were not killed by these 3 plagues still did not repent and did not stop worshipping demons or idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, wood, statues, figurines (Rev. 9:13-20). These things are an abomination to God, these things anger God. At that very hour there was a severely horrible earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven (Rev 11:13).

The antichrist will soonest be introduced to the world as soon as the 3rd temple in Israel is finished and will sit on it. We are now in the grace period, but soonest anytime now people will be forced to choose to follow the antichrist (who will falsely claim he is god) by having the mark of the beast on forehead or right hand wherein people can’t buy and sell, eventually after people will have painful wounds or sores that won’t heal for those who choose the 666 markings of the beast the devil himself on foreheads or right hand (Rev 13: 15-18) plus another severe seven plagues (Rev 15, 16, 17, 18) which will very terrible for the ones who chose not to follow God.;— OR you chose God and don’t chose to receive the mark of the beast, and be saved and be with God in His kingdom eternally. In John 14:3 Jesus warns us to be on the lookout because He is coming soon. (Revelation 22: 12 “Behold, I am coming soon. I bring with me the recompense I will give to each according to his deeds.”)

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will hear their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14). That indeed is a beautiful promise from the Lord Almighty. Your life has a purpose. Accept Lord Jesus as your Lord and savior now. Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus. (Titus 2:13).
