She has bravely given birth, whether in the operating room, Caesarian section or not—yet she bears all the birth pains that immediately evaporate in the air the instant moment she holds you tenderly in her loving arms.

Shea has patiently wrestled with you to take a bath after feeding you, and or after the longish playtime at the garden so you would be clean and smell good all day long as a child.

The educational tutorials with her, the endless times you don’t want to take the kiddie multivitamins that taste differently, the special baking bonding moments, book reading moments, ice cream making at home, the biking lessons, tennis lessons, picnic time, gardening, playing chess and other board games, summer swimming moments, her special hot choco with pan de sal and butter, her surprise foodie pasalubong from the market or grocery, the fruit fest bonding, family gatherings, clan reunions, bedtime stories etc — these are provided for you by your loving mother.

1. Greet her good morning every day.
2. Hug and embrace her often every day.
3. A simple, “I Love You, mom” every day goes a long way to her heart.
4. Have outdoor activities together as a family.
5. Simple surprises absolutely make her day, e.g., know what she wants. Giving her flowers too, be it a rose or a daisy, an orchid or tulips occasionally, even if you have just picked it from her own garden or from the park while you’re having a family picnic there. She knows it, but it’s the thought that counts.
6. Treat her to an ice cream parlor once in a while.
7. A simple homemade card with a personal note from the family will make her day so bright.
